Pack for the Journey Collection & Blessing Bags
As we prepare to launch the August sermon series, Pack for the Journey, we are putting our "Living the Mission" commitments into immediate action. Beginning Sunday, August 9th, we will be collecting items for our goal of packing 500 Blessing Bags! Please plan to join us on Sunday, August 30th during the Sunday School hour (9:45 AM) in the Gym to help pack! This project allows us to live out our five key expressions of discipleship—Come and Worship, Grow in Faith, Share the Word, Go and Serve, and our newest emphasis, Live Generously—by gathering supplies and assembling bags for neighbors in need.
Weekly Donation Schedule
We need your help collecting supplies over the next three weeks to meet our 500-bag goal. Drop your donations in the white bin in the West Foyer:
• August 9: NEW socks, deodorant, and shelf-stable snacks (granola bars, crackers, peanut butter or tuna packets)
• August 16: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and bottled water
• August 23: Feminine hygiene products and travel-size wet wipes
Event Details & Timeline
• Packing Date: Sunday, August 30 during the 9:45 AM hour in the Gym.
• Overtime Block: If we do not finish packing during Sunday School, we will complete the remaining bags immediately following the 11:00 AM service.
• Who Can Join: All adults, youth, and children 3rd grade and up. Nursery and Sunday School will be provided for 2nd grade and below.
• Best Practices: During the packing time, we will share helpful guidelines on the best and safest ways to hand out these bags to people in need.
• A Shared Prayer: We will pray a special prayer together as we pack, which will then be placed on each completed bag to share Christ's love.

• Live Generously & Go and Serve: We fulfill our membership vows by sharing our gifts, resources, and physical service to fill these bags.
• Share the Word: Every bag carries a written prayer, a tangible message of God's grace.
• Grow in Faith: We gather in community, centering our service in prayer and expanding our discipleship.
