Preschool Director
Trenholm Road United Methodist Church Preschool (TRUMPS) is currently seeking a qualified, energetic, and compassionate Preschool Director to lead our weekday ministry program serving infants through after-school-aged children.
This full-time, year-round position is ideal for someone with a strong background in early childhood education, a heart for ministry, and a passion for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally rich environment for young learners.
About the Role:
The Preschool Director provides executive-level leadership and day-to-day management of TRUMPS, overseeing all operations, staff, licensing compliance, curriculum standards, budgeting, family communication, and coordination with the church.
TRUMPS is a licensed DSS facility with a longstanding reputation in Columbia for excellence in early childhood care and education, grounded in Christian values.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
At least 3 years of experience in preschool leadership or administration
Strong knowledge of DSS regulations and quality rating standards (ITERS/ECERS)
Experience in budgeting, payroll, and staff supervision
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified)
Strong communication and leadership skills
Must reside in the Columbia, SC area (No relocation assistance available)
Compensation:
TRUMC offers a competitive salary and benefits package
Salary range is $60,000 - $75,000 - depending on experience

Director of Youth Ministries
Trenholm Road United Methodist Church (“TRUMC”) is a vibrant community of faith with a mission to make world-changing disciples of Jesus Christ as we “Come and Worship, Grow in Faith, Share the Word, Go and Serve.” We welcome individuals and families from all backgrounds and faith walks and seek to encourage one another as we grow closer with Christ. At TRUMC, we take seriously our responsibility to surround youth with a community of love and prayer so they may grow in their trust of God and be true disciples.
An important part of TRUMC’s current and future ministry is the growth and development of our youth and their families. We know youth ministers play a crucial role in shaping the lives of adolescents, providing them with the support and guidance they need to grow in their faith and navigate the challenges of life.
To help us fulfill this responsibility, TRUMC is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated Director of Youth Ministries to build and foster these relationships, help young people deepen their understanding of their faith and encourage them to live faithfully in their daily lives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an effective long-term strategy for the spiritual development of youth (grades 6-12) and their families through meaningful relationships and ministries.
Plan and oversee all programs, activities and events that encourage our 6-12th grade youth to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ. These include:
o Sunday school
o Sunday evening youth group gatherings
o Midweek studies
o Overnight spiritual retreats and mission opportunities (day trips and camps)
Administer and operate our annual youth Confirmation program.
Equip and encourage youth to participate as active members of the congregation and community. This individual is expected to be actively attempting to develop relationships with the congregation’s students through youth outreach.
Seek out and participate in opportunities to witness to and support youth in the church and community.
Recruit and empower servants to engage and lead youth in weekly events, as well as spiritual and mission trips.
Lead and implement youth fundraising opportunities.
Initiate and maintain administrative duties, including regular communication with families and planning.
Create a proposed budget and implement an approved youth budget with input from church leadership.
Work with TRUMC’s Director of Children and Family Ministries to coordinate the Pumpkin Patch – one of the church’s annual fundraisers – as well as other events throughout the year.
Maintain and train the current list of youth servants who are Safe Sanctuary Certified.
Promote and recruit applicants for the Christopher Riddle Scholarship, and work with the Foundation to ensure the scholarship’s guidelines are met.
Desired Ministry Qualifications:
Some formal education in ministry and/or Wesleyan theology (preference given to bachelor’s or master’s degree in a ministry-related field)
Distinct calling to ministry, especially with youth
At least two years’ verifiable experience in youth ministry leadership, either paid or volunteer
Demonstrated fruitfulness in developing ministry leaders, both youth and adult
Demonstrated success in identifying and developing ministry tools
Demonstrated ability to grow a ministry
Willingness to lead or recruit servants to lead worship during youth events
Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communications skills
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Has a positive attitude and enjoys collaborating with others
Able to multitask
Able to take direction and absorb information quickly
