Missions at TRUMC
“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creation.””
At Trenholm Road UMC, we believe in using our time, gifts, talent, and treasure to spread the word of Jesus while helping better the lives of those in need around the world. If you would like to be involved in mission work at TRUMC, contact the individuals listed below.
Established in 2014, Family Promise of the Midlands (FPM) is focused on supporting and empowering families with children who are experiencing homelessness in the Columbia area. In collaboration with over 30 local churches, FPM provides emergency housing, as well as stabilization and prevention services. FPM has received state and national recognition for their innovative and agile initiatives. For more information, visit www.familypromisemidlands.org.
As a founding congregation and a Big-12 hub church, individuals, families, Sunday School classes, and circles at Trenholm Road United Methodist Church have taken responsibility each year to serve families for a designated month. We generously support this mission's effort by providing groceries, gift cards, prepared meals, delivery or car service, and monetary contributions. In addition, financial support from the mission's budget helps offset housing expenses and other support for these families, including summer camp registrations, back-to-school supplies, Christmas gifts, and unexpected household needs.

El Salvador
Trenholm Road UMC has worked closely with Iglesia Metodista Vida Nueva since 2010 a Methodist church in San Salvador, El Salvador. Year one and two was moving dirt and digging foundation trenches. Every year, a team travels to the church to assist with construction work adding to the church a ministries center, with Sunday school classrooms. We have coordinated a children's Bible school, and annually offer medical & dental ministry to the community. Each TRUMC Member pays their way and helps with fundraisers at TRUMC for materials and to defray some volunteers costs.
