Who Are You Wearing Today?
Paul's image of clothing ourselves in compassion, kindness, humility, and love is not a one-time decision but a daily, intentional practice. Gratitude — named three times in this passage — is the hinge that opens us to generosity. What we wear spiritually shapes how we give materially, with joy rather than reluctant duty.

Love in Action
Our identity in Christ is not static. It is lived out in concrete, tangible expressions of love — especially toward those in need. Faith without action is incomplete. John's challenge is direct: if we see someone in need and close our hearts, how does God's love abide in us? Giving is love made visible.

Authentic Loving, Authentic Giving
We bear God's image — and just as a coin bearing Caesar's image belongs to Caesar, we who bear God's image belong entirely to God. The double love command — love God, love neighbor — is not an abstraction but a call to give our whole selves, including our resources, as an expression of whose we are.
