Living the Mission
More Than Words. A Way of Life.
At Trenholm Road United Methodist Church, our mission is:
Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World.
We believe discipleship isn't something that happens only on Sunday morning. It's a lifelong journey of following Jesus in our homes, our workplaces, our neighborhoods, and our community.
Through a congregation-wide visioning process, our church identified four expressions of discipleship that have shaped our ministry for more than a decade:
Come and Worship
Grow in Faith
Share the Word
Go and Serve
Today, we are embracing a fifth expression that reflects who we have always been and who God continues to call us to become:
Live Generously
Together, these five commitments form what we call Living the Mission—the way we seek to follow Christ every day.
The Five Ways We Live the Mission
Come and Worship
Worship is where our journey begins.
When we gather to praise God, hear Scripture, pray together, and celebrate God's grace, our hearts are renewed and our faith is strengthened.
Whether you're joining us for the first time or have worshiped here for years, there is a place for you.
How can I worship?

"Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker."

Grow in Faith
Faith grows through learning, relationships, and spiritual practice.
No matter where you are on your faith journey, you'll find opportunities to ask questions, study Scripture, build friendships, and grow closer to Christ.
Ways to grow:
Sunday School
Bible Studies
Small Groups
Children's Ministry
Youth Ministry
Adult Discipleship
"Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
2 Peter 3:18
Share the Word
The good news of Jesus Christ is meant to be shared.
Sometimes we share through conversation.
Sometimes through encouragement.
Sometimes simply by the way we love our neighbors.
Every member is invited to help others discover the hope found in Christ.
You can share the Word by:
Inviting someone to worship
Sharing your faith story
Participating in outreach
Welcoming guests
Encouraging others
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..."
Matthew 28:19
Go and Serve
Faith becomes visible when love becomes action.
Serving is one of the greatest ways we reflect Christ's compassion in our church and throughout our community.
Whether serving inside the church or beyond our walls, every act of kindness makes a difference.
Ways to serve include:
Local Missions
Community Outreach
Volunteer Teams
Disaster Relief
Children's and Youth Ministries
Hospitality Ministries
"Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
James 2:17
Live Generously
Generosity is more than giving.
It is a lifestyle rooted in gratitude.
We live generously when we share our time, our talents, our prayers, our encouragement, our compassion, and our financial gifts.
As United Methodists, we promise to support Christ's Church through our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness.
Living generously is simply how we live out those promises every day.
Every generous act reflects God's generous love.
Ways to live generously:
Pray for others
Volunteer your gifts
Support ministry financially
Encourage someone
Welcome a visitor
Serve your neighbor
Invest in the next generation
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give...for God loves a cheerful giver."
2 Corinthians 9:7
Living the Mission Together
Living the Mission is not a program.
It is not a campaign.
It is not a checklist.
It is who we are becoming together as followers of Jesus Christ.
Every worship service.
Every Bible study.
Every mission project.
Every prayer.
Every invitation.
Every act of service.
Every generous gift.
Together, these moments become a life of faithful discipleship.
As we continue growing together, we invite every person to discover where God is calling them to worship, grow, share, serve, and live generously.
There is a place for you.
There is a purpose for you.
There is a mission for all of us.
Join Us as We Live the Mission.
